A Criminal Defense Investigator is a private investigator that is hired by a defense team to aid them in a vigorous representation of their client in a court of law. The investigator would serve as a detective to gather evidence, statements and other necessary components the defense team needs. Working for the defense team affords our investigators the ability to work under the attorney client privilege which allows us to work for the clients best interests.
Our investigators are are former law enforcement officers that have had additional training in Criminal Defense. We use the knowledge from both worlds to look at your case from all angles for missing information, short sided work or find something or someone that was overlooked.
Our trained investigators would review all of the police reports, evidence documents and review the evidence itself for mistakes, errors, or missed information by the state.
We will match what you told us or the events, the police reports and witness accounts to the scene and recreate the event. Using these techniques allow us to look for evidence that was missed, video surveillance, additional witnesses that the state did not find or didn't want to talk to.
We additionally provide scene photos for the defense team. These photos are from professional digital cameras and drones for areal views.
Our investigators are trained Forensic Interviewers. They are trained to take witness statements in ways that allow them to open up about important details for the defense of your case.
They will also locate new witnesses and conduct field interviews and provide summaries of those interviews to the defense team. This allows the defense team to decide who they want statements from to aid in the case.
Our investigators do not replace a Defense Attorney but do provide the attorney a valuable tool in the defense of their client.
